London-based music duo Franc Moody (Ned Franc and Jon Moody) have collectively deciphered what many people have been thinking during the pandemic, especially regarding music, which is that we’re ‘Tired of Waiting’.
For what? For normality, for hugs, for hope, for live music? Whatever it is that we’re waiting for, we want it to be safe and warm and full of love, just like this single. And to think it’s only teasing at their next EP, ‘House of FM’ set to release later this year on the 9th of June.
The duo has mentioned that they ‘wanted the tune to sound like a runaway train that never loses momentum.’ It’s safe to say that they delivered and it’s a train that can only pick up more passengers on its way. Who wouldn’t want to listen to this on repeat?
It’s clear ‘Tired of Waiting’ definitely has a nostalgic feeling; disco-funk will forever hold its mark in the music industry. It continues to reinvent itself using old inspiration and new ideas. It’s even started making its way into pop culture again with influences in Dua Lipa’s latest release, ‘Future Nostalgia’ and The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding lights’. Moody’s single seems to fuse funk, bass, disco, and groove to get it just right. Leaving you with nothing else to do but stank face yourself right through the track and get ready for the newest chapter of this year. A reminder from music that it’s still here and can get us through anything.
Imagine driving down the seafront with friends and family after a sunny day at the beach. Then watching the sunset in the distance and realising just how good life can be. That’s exactly what this single feels like. Everyone gets a little “tired of waiting”, but we’ve got to remember that it’ll be worth that wait; this is Franc Moody reminding you “, we’ve never been this far”. And in terms of making it that safer summer, this entire song could loop you all the way there with a smile on your face. Keep on grooving.
