Singer-songwriter and Hartlepool native, Michael Gallagher is back at it again with his latest single ‘Time’, and it could very well be the post-lockdown anthem we’ve all been waiting for.
Since making waves in October with his single, ‘Yesterday’, Gallagher’s been keeping busy amidst all the chaos of the last year, crafting melodic compositions and raw lyrics that we can all relate to. His latest creation, ‘Time’ doesn’t miss the mark.
The track begins with catchy harmonies followed by rock-inspired riffs, and from start to finish, the lyrics are infectious in all the right ways.
Delivered by Gallagher’s unwavering vocals, you can’t help but want to dance and sing the words “but I’ve been waiting in the shadows lately/ always two steps behind you baby” till you’re out of breath.
It’s a song that simultaneously lives up to the ever-changing nature of the indie music scene, whilst also staying true to the bands we’ve all grown to love. For fans of artists such as The Kooks, Bombay Bicycle Club, and The Wombats, ‘Time’ is sure to reignite the nostalgia in all of us.
'Time' is a song that I wrote in one go and I think you can hear that energy in the recording. It's a song that nods its hat to young love and relationships, but my main intention is to get people dancing,” Gallagher says. And with his upcoming live performances in June and September, we can’t see how that won’t be happening.
It’s a song that oozes quintessential summer indie vibes, and we’re all here for it. Cue the bonfires and acoustic guitars.
