Sam Fender's New Single ‘Get You Down’ Is Out Now!

Sam Fender’s newly released ‘Get You Down’ is one of a number of punk songs composed by Fender himself and has already been tipped by many fans as being a timeless hit that will likely be on a plethora of playlists in years to come.

The single is from his upcoming album ‘Seventeen Going Under’ scheduled to be released on October 8 via Polydor Records.

His latest single is available to purchase on Apple Music and was recently revealed in what was a scintillating performance at both the Reading and Leeds festivals a fortnight ago. ‘Get You Down’ was greeted with an array of excitement and anticipation by fans and is noticeable as he announced the name of his latest track on stage. The song takes you on a brief yet insightful journey through his problematic childhood and adolescence growing up in North Shields in the northeast of England.

The song sets the scene of life in his hometown as he revisits the trials, tribulations, and nervous encounters of making the transition from an angst-ridden teenager into an adult. In his own words in an interview with NME he said ‘’It’s a celebration of life after hardship, it’s a celebration of surviving’’ The song is set to have resonance with an audience young and old living through what is an extremely frustrating and vulnerable life stage for the many.

The song has no doubt been released at the just-right moment with recent events that have taken place across the globe and will be remembered by many rock fans for years to come. ‘’I never fought back Just stood there humiliatedFrom the school yard to home’’ is a snippet from one of the verses and reminds a lot of us of what life was like at high school.

As the anticipation for the release of his new album continues, it is fairly reasonable to suggest that his new song has been greeted with overwhelming approval by his ever-expanding fan base and is set to be the backdrop of many summers to come.
