The upcoming Northampton-based artist Liam Taylor, otherwise known as Eddz has unveiled his latest offering titled ‘Ignorance’ which was recorded at Foundry Street Studios in Northampton earlier this year. The track touches on topics that captivates its audience musically and lyrically at a time that is challenging for the many out there.
The music is a soothing and melodic techno-indie pop piece pushing a narrative the music helps to communicate despite the tempo being upbeat from the intro to the outro. The sound is characterised by an unrefined sound that brings a sense of nostalgia for a bygone techno era, yet it feels as though the period for this music has only just begun.
Lyrics such as ‘’Surrounded by the fools with their damaged words / You Take all our time but what’s it worth?’’ in the chorus reiterates the ignorance is bliss approach adopted by so many at such as damaging time. It brings a pensive tone to the music by looking at the amount of time and energy spent on trying to be productive or successful only to be greeted with very little respect or reward.
The single concludes with the refrain ‘’Nothing but our ignorance’’ as the song slowly fades out to a wall of silence, leaving more food for thought amidst its wide-ranging audience. The song is undoubtedly bound to be greeted with much appraisal from his budding fan base as it reveals a message that firmly fits the current narrative and times around the world as ignorance and misinformation are prevalent in society.
Eddz has been busy over the past twelve months and has hit the ground running in the new year. Be sure to find him on one of his many social media pages and stay tuned to any future gigs or release dates that may be on the horizon.
