Fred won the BRIT Awards' Producer of the Year in 2020 and has collaborated with a variety of artists, such as Jessie Reyez and 070 Shake.
‘Kammy (like i do)’ features vocals from KAMILLE and was co-produced by PARISI and is part of Fred’s upcoming album ‘Actual Life 3 (january 1 - september 9 2022)’, which is being released on the 28th of October.
The hard-hitting drums drive the song and bring a high addictive energy for the listener, while the lyrics contradict this upon closer listening. ‘Hold me through the night / Take away the pain’ highlights the disassociation from others and the sadder tone of the track. It was also written in D Minor key, which traditionally feels melancholic and a bit hopeless.
The song "is about diving further and further down into something that alienates you from everyone around you. Like when she says they can’t love you like I do, it never felt to me like a positive lyric weirdly. It felt like two people just alienating the rest of the world in a painful way," via Fred’s Instagram post.
‘Kammy (like i do)’ is the perfect addition to Fred’s impressive discography, it’s head bopping and makes listeners’ want to get up and dance. It gives a glimpse of the upcoming album and shows the talent of Fred Again.
