Luna Keller, sincere songstress, and talented lyricist, is about to release her newest offering – chilling new single ‘Wolves’. With ethereal vocals and an otherworldly quality to both the message and the delivery, this track is sure to delight listeners.
Growing up in a musical family, it was only natural for Keller to develop an affinity to music. However, it was upon first grasping her father’s guitar at age thirteen that she truly fell in love with creating. With years of practice and development, Keller discovered that her true passion lay in transforming emotion into song.
‘Wolves’ is an impeccable example thereof. A song about grief, love and community, the track cuts right to the core and heals from within.
Finding support in one’s community is usually a soother of grief, and it seems a version of that took place in this song. She frequently cites her parents as sources and aids in her songwriting but also reportedly enlisted her friends to help bring this song together. There is no lack of community in ‘Wolves’ – her pack stands behind her.
However, there is much about ‘Wolves’ that is personal – both in the message and in the construction of the song. It seems that the lyrics speak of the passing of a loved one, for which Keller wishes freedom in the afterlife.
As such, there is an air of melancholy from the get-go which is only heightened by the slight rasp that Keller’s voice carries in the lower range. This changes as soon as the chorus begins, where she shows off her upper range and howls along with the ‘Wolves’. An intensely clever move, to mimic the howl of the wolves she sings so fondly of, and it works to the song’s advantage. What cements the excellence of ‘Wolves’ is Keller’s vocal performance. And with a shuddering sigh she brings her listeners back to Earth.
It’s a well-written and well-produced single, flitting between emotions of grief and acceptance, love and loss, all while creating a cohesive sound. Listeners should run (with wolves if they can find them) to go listen to it. ‘Wolves’ is out on all streaming platforms now.
