Ben Gregory, best known for being the frontman of the English indie rock band Blaenavon, announces his first solo album, ‘Episode’, and releases a moving and emotional single ‘manifest*’ alongside it.
Blaenavon decided to break-up in November last year as the band members had other exciting opportunities, and Ben Gregory’s solo adventure is no exception, with the release of ‘manifest*’ and ‘deathbed hangover’.
The iconic, operatic, and sensational voice of Ben has continued to shine in his solo work and his vocals really carry this track. The deep meaning behind the lyrics radiates in lines like ‘‘it’s over again’’.
You can certainly see similarities to Blaenavon’s music through the progression of the track. It starts off relatively steady, and it slowly builds into a big and powerful chorus which is highlighted even more with the keyboard chords in the background. The pauses throughout the song and the growing, bold vocals make this track almost story-like which makes the sound dramatic and tense.
This is a really exciting time for Ben Gregory and other band members of Blaenavon, and if this single is anything to go by, the upcoming album will be a triumphant masterpiece of musical and vocal talent.
Ben Gregory’s debut solo album ‘Episode’ will be released on 7th April 2023.
