Sigala Teams Up with MNEK for New Single ‘Radio’

For the first time ever, Singer/ Songwriter, and Record Producer, MNEK and DJ, and Music Producer, Sigala kickstarted 2023 the right way by dropping dance-pop single ‘Radio’.

Their lyric video was quick to reach 21k views on YouTube in just a small hourly time.

According to Planet Radio, Sigala comments “something that I really wanted to keep true to; not overproduce it. It’s such a simple production, but it's unique as well, with that offbeat bass going all the way through. It throws back to early 2000s and late 90s stuff, and even disco.”.

Rightfully so, the duo’s song ‘Radio’surrounds a young man who has listened to songs on the radio in which the lyrics are a reminder of him to not give up on his significant other. MNEK sings, “What I said to you the other night was wrong/ Didn’t mean to take it out on you/ ‘Cause when I flip the station, now I hear our song/ It’s got me thinking what did I do/ We said forever, so why would I leave?” Words and lyrical meanings on the radio play a significant role in this song.

His latest 2022 performance was at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball in which he performed his full set of beat-filled songs which included the first appearance of ‘Radio.’ Sigala has featured with well-known artists, Meghan Trainor (‘Just Got Paid’), Bryn Christopher (‘Sweet Lovin’), Becky Hill (‘Wish You Well’), Ella Eyre (‘Came Here for Love’), Talia Mar (‘Stay the Night’), Paloma Faith (‘Lullaby’) and now MNEK (‘Radio’) whilst MNEK has been known for collabs with Gordon City (‘Ready For Your Love’), Zara Larsson (‘Never Forget You’) and Stormzy (‘Blinded By Your Grace’).

'Radio' contains vocals that share deep implications for people with past or former relationships, alongside with the earful high-energy beat used for dancefloor settings. His popular and unforgettable tunes are known to be consistent in the UK and US charts. His recent nomination was for Best British Single for the song 'Lullaby' with Paloma Faith at the Brit Awards

Sigala is set to release his second album ‘Every Cloud’ on the 3rd of March 2023 and is to begin his UK tour on the 7th of March 2023.
