Teenage Dads dazzle in cover of ‘Video Killed the Radio Star’

Four-piece Australian indie rock band Teenage Dads make their Triple J ‘Like A Version’ debut by covering the 1970’s smash hit ‘Video Killed the Radio Star’ by The Buggles.

This legendary segment on the most popular radio station in Australia is a big deal for bands and artists to take part in, and Teenage Dads didn’t disappoint for their ‘Like A Version’ premiere.

Jordan Finlay (vocals, guitar), Connor McLaughlin (guitar), Vincent Kinna (drums) and Angus Christi (bass) showcase their talent for making perfectly sound indie aussie music by putting their own stamp on the song. Most of the vocals are performed through an old telephone line to give that electronic and muffled sound which is so prominent in the original song. They also put their own spin on the record by adding a more distinguished bass line through the track and putting more emphasis on the iconic keyboard playing.

The band have recently announced that their latest EP ‘Midnight Driving’ will be released in March this year and if the talent showcased in this cover is anything to go by, this EP is going to be a special one.
