Hailing from Newcastle, Andrew Cushin has been gradually building with top-class tunes. Now, his latest single ‘It’s Coming Round Again’ puts him firmly in the limelight.
Kicking off like something by The Verve, ‘It’s Coming Round Again’ instantly grasps the listener as Andrew’s signature, strained vocals fill out the song. Taking the Toon baton from Sam Fender, Andrew Cushin lets his accent shine through effortlessly.
As it reaches an early peak, the tune takes an unexpected turn. The relentless drumbeat carries the bassline perfectly and could sit in a later Oasis album. Whilst Andrew pours his heart to the listener “and I’ll find my way in the end, cos there’ll be better times and better days ahead”, the upbeat music keeps everything ticking on and feet tapping nicely.
The guitar solos enters the fray and holds an ounce of desperation in every note. It keeps the listener gripped until Andrew’s vocal softens the song. The calm before an explosive final chorus demonstrates how much ‘It’s Coming Round Again´ is craving a stadium to inhabit.
As Andrew Cushin continues to mature and grow, it’s only a matter of time until ‘It’s Coming Round Again’ graces bigger and better stages. It’s sure to be greeted by thousands of lighter-clad hands aloft, with the crowd screaming the lyrics back into the dusk.
