Bring Me The Horizon Release ‘DArkSide’ After The Delayed Release Of ‘Post Human: Nex Gen’

WelcoMe bAck to our interrupted brOadcasT live from the Church of Gen-X-sis, after the dreaded delay of the 7th studio album ‘Post Human: Nex Gen,’ founders Bring Me The Horizon have dropped their newest single and lyric video ‘DArkSide’ as a way of keeping their audience on their toes as they sit in high anticipation for the new era of the band.

Bring Me The Horizon hinted at their upcoming track earlier this month by intruding fans through various social media platforms using enigmatic captions to pique curiosity.

‘DArkSide’ delves into themes of insomnia, heartbreak, and depression, yet ingeniously counterbalances these profound subjects with its irresistibly catchy and infectious melodies, making ‘DArkSide’ more addictive with each subsequent replay.  Lead-singer Oli Sykes reveals his deep vulnerability through the lyrics, “My dark side won today, my heart keeps breaking over and over.” Despite the emotional depth that Jones in from Sykes’ history of addiction, the song is delivered in an anthemic style.

‘DArkSide’ is notably shaped by mid 2000s Emo bands such as Three Days Grace and Linkin Park,’ while seamlessly incorporating the familiarity of their 2015 album ‘That’s The Spirit.’ Bring Me The Horizon’s craftsmanship shines through in their intricate guitar arrangements and unconventional song structure, and dynamic shifts. This includes the infusion of metalcore, using power chords steadily to build up to a breakdown, only to anti-climatically return to the chorus, this lack of resolution toys with the listener and leaves fans yearning for more.

Bring The Horizon continues to push boundaries of what a rock band can be. ‘DArkSide’ feeds off of the excitement building up to the release of ‘Post Human: Nex Gen’ and their upcoming UK tour,  undoubtedly proving to be an outstanding track in its own right.
