Noise indie band HighSchool from Melbourne, Australia have shared their almighty new single ‘Doesn’t Matter’ from their upcoming second EP ‘Accelerator’ to be released in April.
The hazy sounds of HighSchool have been blessing our ears for three years after the success of their debut EP ‘Forever at Last’ making their unique and remarkable mark in the Aussie indie scene.
A track that takes inspiration from gothic literature, this beauty of a record features the classic mystified vocals that are instantly recognisable from the indie duo.
The song is about delusion and the thoughts you have when yearning for someone which is exemplified in the first verse ‘‘In my dreams / You are an angel / Honestly / You never notice me’’. A beautiful opening verse featuring thought provoking lyrics and vulnerability.
One of the most incredible features in this track is the immersive keyboard playing during the bridge. These sounds create a song within a song by having their own instrumental moment to show off the talent and magical atmosphere the keyboard creates in this already audially stunning record.
HighSchool are embarking on a grand EU/UK tour in May to celebrate their upcoming EP ‘Accelerator’ released on April 19th.
