The Regrettes Are Back! (Temporarily)

On November 14th, 2023 The Regrettes announced their breakup through an Instagram post. The band stated they were going their separate ways to focus on solo projects. They played three sold-out farewell shows at the Fonda Theater in their hometown of Los Angeles. To fan's surprise they have released a brand new single. The track is titled ‘Something Magic’ for the Roku original series The Spiderwick Chronicles. 

The track opens up with a springy, energetic guitar riff. Then the track transitions into the pre-chorus. There is a slow and steady build drum up the pre-chorus that provides a satisfying decrescendo before we dive into the chorus—the springy guitar riff combined with the melodic rhythm of the bass. The track's lyrics are fun, sweet, and cut right to the chase. Chorus: “There’s something magic in the sky / And no one gets it like you do / There’s something magic in your eyes / And no one gets me like you do”.

The guitar pop four-piece stayed true to their roots with their final single. This track contains the exuberant energizing guitar riffs the band is known for. This final release is spunky, joyful, and full of the youthful energy in every Regrettes track. It is sad to see them go, but exciting to know they’re pursuing their solo projects.
