Rum Jungle Take Us For A Chill Ride With Latest Single ‘Chauffeur’

Subdued and subtle, this latest effort from Australian four-piece Rum Jungle takes a slightly more chilled approach compared to some of their more recent releases such as ‘Did The Morning Let You Down.'

With a run time of just over three minutes, ‘Chauffeur’ features wavy lead and rhythm guitar parts, groovy, smooth baselines and snappy snare focused drums. The chorus is catchy, with a memorable melody and accompanying lead guitar riff, which is sure to get stuck in listeners’ head.

Released in tandem with a similarly spacey tune named ‘Move to Cali’ this more laid back tone has come just in time for the summer heat, and will fit right into any backyard BBQ playlist.

The mixing work on this track really highlights the core elements well, and they really shine through. The lead vocals, although delivered in a laid back manner, are adorned with hints of echo, letting the words really ring out in the ear. Backing vocals can be heard during the bridge and chorus parts, enhancing the louder segments of the track, and placing emphasis on the lyrics in more crucial areas.

Hailing from Newcastle, New South Wales, Rum Jungle are quickly becoming recognised for their polished, laid back indie-rock tones, and have a host of up coming live dates touring Australian venues firstly, before coming to Europe. The dates run from the end of July all the way into early October. It seems like it will be a busy old period for the Aussies, and rightly so.
