ELLUR Announces 'God Help Me Now' EP & Shares Title-Track

Halifax-based indie sensation Ellur announces her ‘God Help Me Now’ EP, set for release January 16th 2025 via Dance To The Radio (Annie-Dog, SOMOH, Terra Twin), and shares its title-track, out today (August 8th).

Co-written alongside Benjamin Francis-Leftwich, produced by Joel Johnston (Far Caspian) and premiered on BBC 6 Music (Chris Hawkins’ show), Ellur’s vivid storytelling comes to the fore in her most anthemic release to date, taking influences from contemporaries including Sharon Van Etten and Sam Fender, and arriving ahead of her debut appearances at Reading & Leeds Festivals (BBC Introducing stage) later this month.

With a busy summer of festival slots under her belts, as well as supports with both Robbie Williams (BST Hyde Park) and Jack Savoretti, Ellur’s profile continues to accelerate at a phenomenal rate. Completing a sold-out debut UK headline tour in May, the enigmatic musician has attracted widespread plaudits across both sides of the Atlantic (NME, Consequence of Sound, Dork, The Line of Best Fit, Clash, CMU), as well as becoming a key presence on the BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders, Gemma Bradley, Jess Iszatt and Mollie King) and BBC 6 Music (Chris Hawkins and Tom Robinson) airwaves.

Detailing her first EP reveal, Ellur stated: “'God Help Me Now' is the most honest song I've ever written. I approached co-writers Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Jack Leonard back in September with my heart on my sleeve, opening up about how I had so many things I wanted to write about that scared me. I joked with them about my dreams of writing that one song where people get on their friends shoulders and scream the lyrics. I wanted to write someone's favourite song. In a nice way, it's become my favourite song I've released so far and after taking inspiration from the likes of Sam Fender, The Killers and Sharon Van Etten, the fully produced version was born. The sonic world of this song is a true demonstration of exactly how I've always wanted my music to feel and sound. The perfect combination of synth, guitar and snare that, to me, makes an indie anthem."

Ellur’s ‘God Help Me Now’ is out now via Dance To The Radio and available on all digital platforms.
