Hinds Find Closure With The Painfully Vulnerable 'Superstar'

Hinds members Carlotta Cosials and Ana García Perrote wrote a relatable record to the people I thought I knew” talking about being suddenly left behind by people you love without knowing why.

The now-duo stay true to their garage-rock sound Superstar’ starts off relaxed with just an electric guitar and humming, before picking up the pace in the pre-chorus. The drums kick in, and they start to scream out the lyrics, bringing forth hurt and rage. They sing the whole song together, creating a beautiful and strong dynamic between their vocals.

The song’s rhythm changes abruptly in the end, with Cosials and Perrote almost whispering into their mics and the drums dying out, getting across a peaceful sound and acceptance for the situation.

The tune was released with a fitting music video in which they danced and let loose in an abandoned train station. Hinds perfectly capture the relief of getting closure and letting go of those who've wronged you. They smile, hug and laugh in the end and show the audience that they got it out of their system.

'Superstar' hints to an exciting upcoming album, 'VIVA HINDS', which comes out on September 6th.
