piri & tommy Return With Party Anthem ’99%’

piri & tommy discovered their incredible sound together during the pandemic in a student house after sharing their love for dance music.

They originally debuted their mixtape ‘froge.mp3’ in 2022 along with some individual singles including ‘bluetooth’ and ‘on & on’.

It was their song ‘soft spot’  that really catapulted the pair’s talents on TikTok and they now have over one million monthly Spotify listeners. Both have been exploring their own adventures the past few years in collaboration with the likes of Salute and Disclosure. 

After teasing fans with this track on Tiktok back in January this year, it is finally released for the world to hear. This will be their first song of 2024 and a taste of what an upcoming EP from them will sound like. 

The two have returned with a brand new single ’99%’ , to start a new musical journey together again. Inspired by the basement party scene, they have created the perfect dance pop track to get grooving to, with a hypnotic drum and base sound that you can lose yourself in and forget about your “troubles”. The track expresses the duo’s love for nightlife as they “Never wanna go home” highlighting the infectious atmosphere of club culture. Piri’s gorgeous vocals compliment the track incredibly throughout and as the song draws to a close with Tommy’s, fans are hoping to hear more from him on future projects. 

‘99%’ really showcases what these two strive for in their music, they want to make people happy, they want them to dance and all round just have a fun time. Their sound is definitely becoming more defined too, as the fundamental elements of electronic dance music shine throughout and are crafted incredibly well together. The pair are constantly evolving and their passion for what they do is truly inspiring, they’ll have you searching for the nearest dance floor all summer after just one listen. 

They have also released an accompanying music video, directed by Jessi Clover Belgrave,  which perfectly simulates the classic uni house party and clubbing experiences and is as addictive as the track itself. The video is a montage of club tropes such as people talking in the bathroom, kissing and of course, dancing. The mixture of colours and use of slow motion shots only amplify the euphoric feeling of dancing the night away. 

Overall this project has a strong nostalgic element to it, particularly from the music video, whilst also having a gen z twist to personalise their track. In turn connecting with their audience and providing a widely accessible song. The carefree tune is an absolute must have track on your next playlist this summer if you want that northern basement party feel. 

piri & tommy have yet again showcased their unobtainable chemistry and talent with such a strong comeback, they are definitely headed towards even more success.
