Pixie Lott Takes Back Control On ‘Midnight Trash’

Pixie Lott has had a whirlwind ten years. The singer-songwriter has returned to the music scene with her most recent single ‘Midnight Trash’, ahead of the release of her fourth studio album, ‘Encino’, coming on September 17th.

Alongside this release, Pixie Lott released the leading single ‘Somebody’s Daughter’ earlier this summer - a pop and rock tune with fiery undertones penned in angst towards the painful experiences of bullying. She displayed a truly authentic side she had never shown before.

As she draws inspiration from artists like Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, Joe Cocker, and Paul Simon and digs deeper than ever to share what life has really been like this past ten years, fans are sure to see a whole new side of their favourite singer. She puts her heart and soul into every lyric and melody on ‘Midnight Trash’.

You might not immediately recognise the difficult issue that inspired ‘Midnight Trash’ since it is a soul song that is so readily anthemic. Pixie Lott describes the song, which she co-wrote with her former partner Pete Zizzo and co-produced with Thomas Mitchener, as being about breaking up with insomnia. “At the time, my chest was so tight from anxiety that I was unable to sleep”. Although it seems like a breakup song, it's actually a happy tune. Her son, Bertie, performs on the tune making it a special aspect of ‘Midnight Trash’. The forthcoming album has 13 songs and is produced by Dave Gibson, Jeeve, Stuart Crichton, Peter Zizzo, and Thomas Mitchener.

Midnight Trash’ is a journey of moving on and finding healing while discovering a different outlook on life.
