Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, duo Wotts, comprised of Ricky 100 and Jayem, are rising through the music scene with their uniquely crafted brand of indie pop.
Harking similarities to solo artists such as Australia's Tame Impala and the New York-based Brothertiger, Wotts' discography thus far is a bright and bold collection of expertly crafted cuts that teeter between contemporary modern and 80's-infused pop.
Sitting as their fourth single of the year (kickstarted by the vibrant 'PETALS'), their latest release, 'Wilson', is a warm embrace of leading synths and swirling instrumentation.
The narrative comes in the form of fast-paced lyrics that perfectly complement the soft, yet insistent percussive beats. Infusing the surf-rock and bedroom-pop genres into this cut, Wotts defy labels and refuse to be pinned to a singular category.
Coming in at just over the three-minute mark, the utterly dreamy and completely delectable 'Wilson' is a certified Summer hit that makes an impressive addition to their already stunning back-catalogue.
The track is plucked from their upcoming EP, which is slated for release later this Summer and is an embrace of "the best of what we’ve put out to date, while also making sure everything ties together sonically". Joining The Smiths' inspired, swirling soundscapes of 'Laundry', 'Wilson' makes for an exciting additional teaser.
