Talent continues to ooze from Scottish band The Tropicanas with the release of their latest single, adding to an impressively lengthy discography. With Spotify listeners from Australia to the United Kingdom and the United States, the band continue to prove their musical abilities when it comes to instruments and vocalisation, gifting their fans with a peaceful, joyful and chilled vibe.
The tight-knit quintet offer up their latest creation entitled ‘Deep Down’ as a leisurely stroll through their world of musical production.
It opens with a jaunty but grounding sound as they introduce their range of instruments consecutively, all leading up to a satisfying plateau only moments into the song. This proves to be the perfect corridor to the track’s main body; from here, it begins to pick up in pace and really explode with the great vibes that the band are notorious for producing. As the lyrics creep in alongside a captivating instrumental accompaniment, the phrase “cause I care deep down, real deep” is sung as an ode to its title, expressing this indie love and desire that seems to be purged with repression.
The upbeat nature of the track provides listeners with this indie, youthful atmosphere that subsequently holds them in a trance. It is impossible to press pause. Every segment is so perfectly combined with one another and the band manage to grab and hold fans’ attention from beginning to end, incorporating a musical variation three minutes into the song that allows for such a captivating and pleasurable listen.
The group beautifully encompasses the infamous human emotions of love and care, intertwining them with an experienced fear of expressing them- they are able to juggle two contrasting yet imperative sensations therefore giving listeners the chance to revel in the joy of the song but appreciate the angst. All of this whilst expressing such amazing musical co-operation between instruments and band members.
