Hot Machine Sizzles The Scene With Debut EP ‘Leather and Steel’

Are you ready for a new emerging rock and roll band to sink your teeth into?

Currently grabbing the attention in and out of Melbourne, Australia, the all-girl rock band Hot Machine is tearing up the scene.

It's incredible enough to see more and more all-girl rock bands coming up, but Hot Machine's sound makes it stand out even more. Five cool girls hit their instruments and vocals hard in bringing back the nostalgic, heavy classic rock sound.

Hot Machine is for those who love that nostalgic classic rock sound from years ago, as heard from Australian legends AC/DC and other bands such as The Runaways and Girlschool. The five-member band also announced an upcoming tour in support of D4 in Japan. And it's pretty incredible for a band that only formed within the last year. Yes, 2023 was when these ladies, Brittany (bass), Jess Maio (drums), Sammy (vocals), Jess Turner (guitar), and Sarsha (guitar), came together, and it's been one incredible upward journey for them.

The release of the band's new debut EP 'Leather and Steel' is a wild, hot listening experience jam-packed with a vibe that explains why it is cutting through the noise and going beyond Melbourne's city limits. The EP's first three singles, 'Red Hot Summer', 'She's on the Money', and 'Bad Hand', are epic, loud, and worth every moment of head banging along to their tunes and their attitudes.

The EP starts off strong with 'She's on the Money', which showcases the group's undeniable talent live and its empowering, yet cheeky lyrics (with a little laugh in the bridge) that bring an attitude of hot girls, hot mindsets, and hot confidence that'll have you begging for more. "She wants to be the poison / hold her down, won't get you far / she's a hot machine and a runaway queen".  The ladies continue that fervour of punchy conviction throughout 'Leather and Steel' in a very addictive way. Even if you are not a fan of heavy rock, you may easily be transformed into one.

'Bad Hand' is another great song to be singled out. It is a slick track that makes a twist on how love is a gamble: "Cards are on the table, and you have a price to pay".  However, due to their mindset of knowing they're hot girls with lots of grit and are tough as steelthey speak their minds loud and clearly. They're not putting up with a non-committal man standing up from the table and letting the dealer handle what is left. I mean, who would want a lousy hand in love or while gambling? "Turned my black heart all on its head / I was all in on you and now you're running scared / if winners take it all then why can't I win you?". It would have any man shaking in their bones, which is why it makes for such an enriching and bewitching tune.

The four-track EP is swirling with non-stop grungy, raucous, and tough guitars backed with a roaring and powerful rhythm section layered with the insanely talented, rich, dark-toned, and raspy vocals that take each song to a higher level. 'Leather and Steel' provides a delightful and thrilling listening experience through headphones and speakers. And if we know anything about Melbourne's music scene, if it sounds good in recording, they are likely a hundred times better in person.  We are sure that hearing them live is a notch above what we can expect in the best way possible. They are full of unruly charisma, hot stage presence, great leather outfits, and an epic sound that fuels an exciting and captivating experience.
