Black Stone Cherry And The ‘American Horse’ They Rode In On

In preparation for their upcoming European tour, the hard and bluesy rockers Black Stone Cherry are at it again, releasing their second track of October.

The fist pumping Kentucky quartet have brilliantly joined forces with fellow touring acts John Cooper (of Skillet) and Ayron Jones to premier a new song, a cover of 1989 classic 'American Horse' from The Cults’ ‘Sonic Temple’ album.

The group produce a heavier track than the original, a change well suited to the galloping wild horse sound of Black Stone Cherry. Chris Robertson’s trademark powerful vocals are in full force.

The track follows the usual Black Stone Cherry blueprint: heavy riffs over monstrous drums and bass with sweet and soothing melodic vocals, managing to transform a song originating from an 80s English band into their distinct southern rock sound.

Black Stone Cherry have worked with other artists before, such as the recent remix of their song 'Out Of Pocket' with Jesse Leach from Killswitch Engage. However, a multi-artist cover featuring touring partners breaks new ground for the band.

With the recent news that Black Stone Cherry were inducted into their home state of Kentucky’s Music Hall of Fame, the group are having a brilliant month.
