Gothicly Good Devils Night

Creeper put on all the bells and whistles for an epic Devils Night in London.

Before the venue even opens, many of the fans have already been in full party mode. Hanging in a bar, at the Pop Up Haunt, presented by Old Sarum Tattoo. With tattoos, nails by Trick Or Treat Nails, tarot reading on offer and after a long wait and a slight delivery mishap, the opportunity to snag very cheap old tour merch and a very limited edition special shirt for the evening.

As early as 19:00 the arena is jam packed with Creeper shirts everywhere. The cult following are ready with a real buzz in the air, knowing it will be a Devils Night to remember. Choir Noir get Creepers largest UK show underway with a rocking choral display sweeping the arena. Darcia’s voice announces, “Don’t lose your heads. Don’t get ahead of yourselves. Here’s Creeper.”

Back from a US trip, Creeper come storming onto the stage in front of a sea of black and a spooktacular spatter of body paint and fake blood. The crowd are dealt a treat bowl filled with catchy tunes. Creeper launch into their first song of the evening, 'Further than forever', then delivering a smorgasbord of new and old songs alike, to absolute perfection.

William Von Ghould, the Prince of horror rock, is effortlessly cool, a real front man of rock. Looking at home whether he's on a tiny stage or filling an arena.

The show is brimming with fire, under gloriously gothic lights. Coloured with purples, reds and greens. Complete with devilish backing dancers, it’s a big show feeling.

After a barrage of hits such as, ‘The Ballad Of Spook And Mercy’ and ‘Teenage Sacrifice’, there’s a moment for the band to catch their breath and the audience to rest, with a drum solo fuelled by fire. Hannah Greenwood, perhaps the hidden jewel of Creeper, sings 'Crickets', slowing the show down, unplugged and bringing tremendous emotion to the set and audience. Hannah effortlessly commands the stage as more of the band return under the dark purple lights and pick up the pace. Launching back into the heavier and riffier 'Ghosts Over Calvary'.

There's a rare outing for ‘Astral Projection' before the rapturous crowd are rewarded with the live debut performance of 'More Than Death', another of their tunes with soaring melodies. The venue swells with phone lights, love and emotion. Once again picking up the pace and hitting the home straight with the familiar classic trio of ‘Annabelle’‘Misery’ and ‘Cry To Heaven’.

During the chorus of 'Misery' the audience took over the singing, giving Will a moment to hear his words belted back by thousands of adoring fans, in a venue artists dream of playing in the early days of their career.

Creeper just keep going from strength to strength, ambitiously taking on a huge venue and absolutely proving their worth. It's a Halloween to remember.
