It’s “Hoa-Hoa-Hoa” Season: Blue Foundation Release Cinematic Capture Of Twilight Soundtrack Hit ‘Eyes On Fire’

Danish band Blue Foundation, renowned for their signature cinematic dream pop sound, satiate fans with the release of a cinematic capture of their hit, ‘Eyes On Fire’, as they await their latest album, expected in 2025. The live video recording, taken from their sold-out show at The Royal Danish Theatre earlier this year, was captured by Thøger Kappel, Johan Benda & Morten Westh. The captivating performance footage, interwoven with backstage clips, uses subdued blue and yellow hues, lulling the viewer into its ambient allure. 

In a statement accompanying the release, lead singer Tobias Wilner said: - “In that moment, it was more than just a performance—we were all in it together, and that’s something I’ll never forget. This song isn’t just ours anymore; it belongs to everyone who listens”. 

The initial entrance of ghostly strings courtesy of Maria Jagd set the brooding, dreamlike soundscape that, when joined by the haunting vocals of Helen Gao, sends chills down your spine akin to seeing a ghost. From the initial “Hoa-hoa-hoa-hoa-hoa”, to the swell of drums and guitar, it only strives to prove the ethereal beauty of the track even now, 17 years after its initial release. 

The track rose to popularity from its feature in the vampiric romantic fantasy hit, Twilight (2008). From its universal emotive lyrics and melancholic, brooding sound to its synonymous place in popular culture as a symbol of autumnal nostalgia, ‘Eyes On Fire’, is a resilient and ever-appealing track that relevance is eternal, alike the characters it soundtracked. This stunningly captivating performance visualises that, making the arrival of the band's next chapter even more eagerly anticipated.
