Seven Questions With Andrew Cushin

Singer-songwriter Andrew Cushin discusses his upcoming sophomore record, working with Noel Gallagher and contemplates on his three 'desert island' album picks as part of the Seven Questions with Music Is To Blame Series.

Introduce yourself and where are you’re from.

Andrew Cushin, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

What do our readers need to know about you?

I’m a singer songwriter from Newcastle.

What have you got coming up that you’re most excited for?

I have a new album 'Love is For Everyone' out on May 2nd. I’m also going on a UK, European and North America headline tour.

What’s the best run in you’ve had with a fan?

I’ve had a few that stick out.. we had a fella turn his car into a sort of ‘Andrew Cushin mobile’ … with signatures and song lyrics, that was pretty out there haha!… there’s been a number of great meetings and cool stuff.

What’s been your biggest ‘I’ve made it’ moment so far?

I never say “I’ve made it”… I don’t even know what that means to be truthful. Some real proud moments include working with Noel Gallagher, touring with Louis Tomlinson… playing places like Hollywood bowl, Forest Hill’s stadium… selling out two headline shows in City Hall, Newcastle and becoming the youngest Geordie to do so!… those are pretty special memories for me.

What are your three “desert island” albums?

'The White Album' by The Beatles, 'What’s the Story' - Oasis and 'Highway 61' - Bob Dylan

Sum up your sound in three words.

Heartfelt-poignant-anthemic.
