Declan McKenna has excited fans across the globe with the announcement of a livestreamed playthrough of his upcoming album ‘Zeros’, to coincide with the album’s release on September 4 th .
The live show will take place at London’s LaFayette music venue, with multiple cameras being employed to give ticket holders an exclusive first look at the singer song-writers sophomore effort. The event is designed to be a refreshing blend of an album listening party and a live set, breaking new ground in an increasingly uncertain landscape for current musicians.
McKenna previously premiered a live performance of his latest single ‘Be an Astronaut’ through YouTube on August 6 th . However, this livestream is the first time his new album will be heard in its entirety. Once tickets are purchased, viewers will be able to watch the livestream for 24 hours after the initial start time. UK fans will also have the option to pre- order the CD with the event tickets.
The livestream was announced on McKenna’s Twitter, with the potential promise of older tunes also being played alongside the new music. The excitement of the responses to the announcement is palpable, with many looking forward to getting their fix of a live performance before McKenna and his band tour properly in March next year.
