A.N.J.A doesn’t hold back on the thrill with latest guitar-heavy single ‘Monoxide’

A.N.J.A is back with her latest single and, as she herself claims in the song, "you can run, but you can’t hide" from it.

The single, titled ‘Monoxide’, is alt-rock at its brilliant best. It starts as it means to go on, with strong guitar and a powerful drum beat, which pulsates throughout the song from beginning to end.

Her vocals are fierce to match and fit smartly with the background to the song, for ‘Monoxide’ tells the tale of a woman on the hunt for her next victim. A.N.J.A hurls out each lyric with confidence and uses this single as a direct message of anger towards female victims and their pure helplessness in homicide cases - she isn’t happy and you can tell, for this is her battle cry and we should all sit up and take note.

A.N.J.A continues to play to her talents. Her punk-rock attitude and acid-rock style are evident throughout this song. She certainly hasn’t been called the Belfast Stevie Nicks for nothing - and it’s quite easy to see why as she continues to pump out fresh music for us. With each release, she seemingly goes from strength to strength, and this latest offering is arguably her best yet. It’s rock at its finest and certainly packs a punch with its heavy garage-infused riffs and hard drum beat reverberating throughout the song. It’s a powerful song with a hefty message of intent from the former busker.

She opens with “oh what a pity, you don’t have anything that interests me” as she scours for that victim as ‘the abductor’ in this song - although, in truth, the lyrics aren’t as serious as they sound and A.N.J.A keeps it light.

By mashing those aforementioned fierce punk-rock vocals with some truly hypnotic ones towards the back end of the song, A.N.J.A also uses this single to showcase her impressive vocal range. As we get lured in by her seductive tones, we then come back to reality with a crash of the drums, those punchy vocals, and that catchy guitar riff. It’s sleek and stylish and is a sure-fire statement of intent from her.

A.N.J.A’s ‘Monoxide’ then is almost certainly guaranteed to take you on an exhilarating ride that you won’t forget. From her sublime vocals to the garage-infused wail of the guitar, this song demands to be played and be played loud. We would have to oblige with that one.
