Coming off a few years of mainstream success, it’s hard to believe that Aussie-born The Kid LAROI is only 18 years old. Since his rise to stardom with the smash hit ‘without you’, the ever-impressive The Kid LAROI (whose real name is Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard) has had a dream start to his career.
A co-sign by the late Juice World opened the door for the young artist from New South Wales, allowing him to tour the world and play massive stages, despite being a relative newcomer to the industry.
With collaborations from huge stars including Miles Cyrus and Justin Beiber, The Kid LAROI has landed some massive festival slots, including Reading and Leeds Main Stage 2021.
After snippets being teased originally on twitch last year, ‘Thousand Miles’ has been hyped up by his fans, with the snippets making the rounds all over the internet. In typical LAROI fashion, this track is led by a clever and catchy guitar riff, which cements the verses in between a heartwarming earworm of a chorus.
The production by Louis Bell is finely tuned, with the treble of the aforementioned guitar balanced perfectly by hard-hitting bass drums. LAROI’s vocals show signs of maturity, with deeper, more vibrant tones present in this track.
This is a solid single by the young Aussie, sticking to the formula that has worked for him so far, but adding subtle flakes of maturity.
