Following the release of their debut album ‘Let The Festivities Begin!’ earlier this year, Los Bitchos have surprised us with their festive single ‘Los Chrismos’.
Formed in 2017, the band are well known for their psychedelic cumbia style of music rarely featuring vocals, and have delivered upbeat sounds with singles such as ‘Las Panteras’ and ‘Pista (Fresh Start)’.
Their new release ‘Los Chrismos’ is everything an indie fan wants in a Christmas song, managing to make a holiday song sound good before the season has even started! The jingle bells at the start of the track may sound stereotypical at first, but this develops beyond the typical-sounding Christmas sound with jazzy guitar chords and magnificent synths, making this a well-made song, no matter what time of year it is!
Even though Los Bitchos’ songs rarely contain vocals, the song still holds an element of a story. The start builds with a happy and upbeat tone, similar to the build-up to Christmas whereas, towards the end of the song you’ll hear celebrations, cheering and singing, emulating the togetherness of Christmas day when everyone is together. The song has been produced and arranged perfectly, creating an immersive, festive experience for listeners.
The various intensities and moods the song holds make it another Los Bitchos banger and we will hopefully get another festive song from the band in the future.
