Plant Dad Unveil 'broke conduits'

The Baltimore hailing Ralph Bernabe (better known by his stage moniker Plant Dad) has found his craft in releasing delicate indie-rock tracks that oft teeter into pop-cum-R&B territory.

With a soundscape akin to the likes of Ben Howard, 'For Emma, Forever Ago'-era Bon Iver and the subtle stylings of James Vincent McMorrow, Plant Dad's discography spans only three years but is teeming with creativity and delectably digestible cuts.

His latest release, 'broke conduits' marks his second offering of the year - following on from the upbeat and catchy 'That's Right', which enlists the aid of pop-master Art Grad

A collaborative effort with the UK-based Jacob Cook, 'broke conduits' finds itself steeped in vulnerability as the pair dote on apathy and depression whilst "embracing the chaos". Hailing the cut as his most personal release to date, Plant Dad notes; “This song feels like an anthem of what it’s like to be me".

'broke conduits' boasts a delicate folk backdrop, supported by lush swooning vocals from both singers and subtle, intricate guitar lines. Haunting but oddly uplifting, raw emotion seeps throughout and lends to the wispy atmosphere of the heart-rending and melancholic narrative. The track marks a clear shift in direction from the pop-sounds of 'That's Right' and indicates a more expansive genre selection in the future of Plant Dad releases.
