Biig Piig’s ‘11:11’ Grants Her Wish For A Genre-Defying Debut Album

London-based Irish singer and songwriter Biig Piig has finally unveiled her highly anticipated debut album, ‘11:11’, released last Friday. 

If EP ‘The Sky Is Bleeding’ marked a captivating shift toward sensual, magnetic pop and ‘Bubblegum’ explored a fusion of mainstream hooks and DIY spirit, ‘11:11’ was expected to be the project that fully crystallized her artistic identity.

Featuring 11 tracks—including the pre-released singles ’One Way Ticket’, ‘Ponytail’, ‘Favourite Girl’, and ‘4AM’—the album was crafted between London and Paris, with production from Andrew Wells, Jonny Coffer, Mac Wetha, Surkin, and Zachary Nahome. The result is a record that feels both expansive and deeply personal, balancing Biig Piig’s signature ethereal vocals with intricate beats and immersive soundscapes.

"11:11 has been a recurring number throughout my life... This album captures different moments along my journey, symbolizing synchronicity—the idea that things happen for a reason, exactly as they should," Jess Smyth, known as Biig Piig, explained.

The album seamlessly drifts between late-night introspection and the hazy glow of the dance floor, effortlessly blending R&B, house, and alt-pop. Tracks like ‘Favourite Girl’ embody this contrast perfectly, layering pulsing rhythms with whispered confessions that linger long after the song ends. Elsewhere, her bilingual lyricism—switching between English and Spanish—adds another layer of intimacy, a nod to her teenage years spent in Málaga.
