Erin LeCount - the Essex-hailing singer - has recently released her new single ‘Silver Spoon’, which was performed, written and produced by Erin in her garden shed. Erin’s impressive discography is made up of emotional yet catchy tracks.
‘Silver Spoon’ begins with a slow-paced tempo with the occasional drum beat and guitar. The vocals have a very subtle echo effect at the beginning, similar to Ethel Cain.
The chorus to this single went viral on TikTok which had fans begging for the release of this song for months after the snippet was teased. The track resonates with childhood trauma which is evident in the lyrics “Product of love, which we do not receive” and “I bet you grew up being asked how your day was” .
There is an electrifying outro which closes the song which builds up quickly, it's fast-paced and includes repetition of the lyrics “Silver Spoons and butter knives / Living hand to mouth, I’m getting by”. Captivating, powerful vocals are displayed throughout; with angelic vocals and serene drums, the track evokes a mesmerising, ethereal atmosphere.
Erin LeCount has an upcoming show at RAE’S on 27th March, tickets are on sale 9am Friday.
