Roll Loud And Rock On With Lab Rat’s Latest Track

Grunge-rap artist Lab Rat has recently released his new single, and it brings to light the limitlessness of music, merged with a unique sense of transcendence that accompanies his vocals in particular. 

As an Australian artist with a fan base mostly spanning across both Oceania and Europe, it’s evident that his work is known and admired; throughout his discography there lies this unique blend of anthemic energy and heartfelt passion.

This new single titled ‘Rolling Loud’ is a masterpiece, in every sense of the word. The layering of the instrumentals and the vocals together gives it this sense of paranormal cohesion, which lies intrinsically and effortlessly at the song’s centre. It offers a musical pulse, bringing life to the art form itself and demonstrating admirably the unending nature of music. 

It opens with a strong, intense guitar riff, slowly bringing in a continuously held note to amp up the anticipation and the climactic sense that Lab Rat so cleverly utilises. Once the vocals kick in, they take the song to another level once again, in the space of only seven seconds. It becomes this composition of continuity and variety all at once. 

Then, the vocal intonation is difficult to pinpoint; it brings versatility to every line but differently each time. Whether that be a slight change in tempo for a singular phrase or adapting one word’s pitch to stand out from the others, it is meticulously calculated by the artist and offers a genius statement on how dynamic music can be, even with the smallest of changes. 

Such dexterous lyrics must have an intrinsically important meaning and truth to them, and Lab Rat doesn’t deny us this. He converts the loudness that comes with a more rock and roll genre into a sound that is more raw and passionate sonically, never stripping away any interpretations concerning important life lessons. He sings, or raps, about wasting days and nights and uses the continued motif of what will happen next to get this across- even if these questions aren’t answered lyrically, the fact that they are posed to a listener perhaps lends itself to a call on reflection. 

Lab Rat makes such powerful use of chords interwoven with lyrics, balancing a sense of death with resurrection and the dichotomies humanity is constantly faced with.
