The Rooks Infuse An Individualistic Twist Into Rock With Latest Single ‘Get Up’

Gritty Glasgow rock band The Rooks add to their magnetic momentum with third single ‘Get Up’

Following on from their previous two singles, ‘Renegade’ and debut ‘Lay Me Down’, The Rooks only continue to make their mark on their local music scene and beyond. Even before the release of their debut single, the quintet have amassed a crowd of dedicated fans who attend their headline shows and support slots, which have have been for well-loved acts including Blossoms and Dylan John Thomas

Frontman and lead vocalist Ross Gardiner’s vocals are pristine and clear, enabling listeners to hear every intended word and message. This is accompanied by an orchestral surround of guitar from Cameron McKie and Matthew McFadyen, basslines from Kieran Luddy and firm foundations from drummer Call Mackinnon

While lasting for an average length of just over 3 minutes, there is nothing average about the song. 'Get Up’ is a track full of catchy choruses and an invigorating feel that will ignite an electrifying environment when played live. It is a tune that continues to emphasise The Rooks’ meticulously mature approach to melodies, with a simplicity that makes ‘Get Up’ timeless.

If you haven’t given it a listen already, and you’re a fan of rock, then ‘Get Up’ is a must-listen. The Rooks are set to be huge names in their local scene and beyond, so they are definitely a band you need to get to know.
