Omar Rudberg, Swedish pop sensation, absolutely owned the stage at DR Koncerthuset’s Studio 2 in Copenhagen on February 28. The show was completely sold out, and from the moment he stepped on stage, it was clear why. With two dancers by his side, Omar turned the night into a full-on party, packed with high-energy moments, emotional ballads, and plenty of crowd interaction.
Born in Venezuela but raised in Sweden, Omar has crafted a unique sound, effortlessly blending English, Swedish, and Spanish in his music. His background in a boyband, combined with his successful acting career, makes him a true all-round performer. Commanding the stage with charisma, sharp choreography, and a deep connection to his fans.
And let’s talk about his look. Dressed in metallic fabrics that shimmered under the stage lights, paired with sleek sunglasses, Omar looked every bit the superstar. His outfit gave off effortless cool while adding to the electrifying energy of the performance.
He kicked things off with 'Bye Bye', immediately setting the tone for the night. Then came 'Yo Dije OUFF' mashed up with Cardi B’s 'I Like It', and the whole place exploded. It’s impossible to stand still when Omar is performing, his mix of Latin rhythms and pure pop energy is just too good. You could see it in the crowd; everyone was dancing, screaming, and completely losing themselves in the music.
What made the night even more special was the audience. It felt like half the room had travelled from Sweden just to see him, and that love was loud. The mix of Swedish and Danish fans created such a special atmosphere. Almost like a homecoming for Omar, even though we were in Copenhagen. Every song was met with deafening cheers, and the energy never dropped for a second.
The setlist was packed with fan favourites. 'Girlfriend' had the whole crowd singing along, and the medley of 'Como Ayer', 'La Mesa', 'Pull Up' and ‘QUE PASA' was just flawless. He flowed effortlessly between styles, keeping the energy up while showing off his versatility. Omar and his dancers absolutely killed it, turning the whole venue into a dancefloor.
Then, Omar paused. He expressed his wish to “change the mood” and sing a special song. As white light from the left and blue from the right merged together, he stepped into the spotlight. And then, the first notes of 'Simon’s Song', from Young Royals, filled the room. The crowd immediately recognized it, the deeply heartfelt and romantic ballad sung entirely in Swedish. The entire venue swayed as Omar’s voice carried through, shifting from a rough, deep tenor to soaring high notes that gave everyone chills. Fans softly sang along, their voices blending with his in a moment that felt almost sacred. It was one of the most emotional highlights of the night.
Then came 'Wrong', and what happened next was unforgettable. As soon as the first notes played, the audience held up signs reading "WE COULDN’T LOVE YOU MORE". It was a moment of pure love and appreciation, and you could see how much it meant to Omar. The entire venue was filled with emotion, and the connection between him and the fans was undeniable.
Another standout moment was 'I’m Not a Boy', a song that means so much to so many people. Hearing it live, surrounded by fans who truly get it, was something special.
The final stretch of the show was just straight-up fire. 'Moving Like That' and 'It Takes a Fool to Remain Sane' kept the crowd on their feet and turned the place into a full-blown rave. His dancers matched his energy perfectly, making the whole performance feel even bigger. Next, he played 'Dum', one of his older singles, in Swedish. This track slowed things down, giving the audience a chance to catch their breath while keeping the emotional intensity high. The heartfelt lyrics meshed perfectly with 'Happier', another standout moment, where Omar’s vocal abilities truly stole the show.
Omar wasn’t about to let us leave on a sad note. He wrapped things up with 'Mi Casa Su Casa' and 'Sabotage', leaving everyone on the highest possible energy. The connection between him and the crowd was insane, he made the whole night feel personal.
Whether it was the high-energy anthems, the emotional ballads, or the way he made every single person in that room feel seen, this show was something special. If you ever get the chance to see him live, don’t even think twice. Just go!
